The Taxpayer Advisory Group meets regularly to make recommendations on tax policy, rules and regulations for the Texas Comptroller’s Office, and they also comment on proposed legislation. The Comptroller is the chief steward of the state’s finances, acting as tax collector, chief accountant, chief revenue estimator and chief treasurer for all of state government.
